MISSIONS REPORT FROM INDIA
2010

Dear Friends and Co-Laborers in Christ,

In II Thessalonians 2:4 the Word of God says, “But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts”. Here Paul saw himself as a steward of God to carry the message of salvation to the lost.

At Solid Rock Theological Seminary in India, our mission is to produce Christian leaders who are clear on the gospel and capable of guiding the church to fulfill its roll in the great commission. To accomplish this task we offer the finest training in biblical, theological and ministry disciplines. Each area of our program is designed to prepare our students for effective ministries.

We express our sincere thanks to you for your prayers and financial support to SRIM. You make it possible for us to continue ministering.

God is using our graduates to impact India with the gospel. Let me give you an example of this: two of our graduates, Sanjit Pani and Abanate Pani (not related) graduated from SRTS in 2004. They returned to their home state of Orissa and we did not hear from them for almost six years. However, early this year Sanjit Pani visited the seminary and shared with me what God has been doing through them. Since graduating, they returned to Orissa, and the Lord led them both to plant churches in different cities. Pastor Sanjit’s church has grown to about 300 believers and Pastor Abanate’s church now has over 360 believers.

In our chapel service, he shared with the student body that the training they received from SRTS had prepared them to go to any place in India and start a church from scratch and grow it. He said that if they can do this by God’s grace, then any of our graduates can likewise do it. What an inspiration and blessing he was to all of us..

This year I had the privilege to teach two courses at the seminary: 1) Personal Evangelism 2) and Systematic Theology. I had an exciting and wonderful time teaching these courses and the students enthusiastically received the Word of God.

In the school year 2009-2010, sixty-eight courses were taught at the seminary. We thank the Lord for our fine faculty and for their giftedness in imparting truths to ourstudents.

We also had our twentieth graduating class with 34 students who received their degrees in Theology; Twenty-two with B.Th., nine with B.D., and three with M.Th.degrees. This is the largest graduating class in the history of our seminary

Dr. Michael Floyd, the Academic Dean of Dayspring Bible College and Seminary from Lake Zurich, Illinois, preached the commencement message in our graduation service. He challenged the graduates to take the gospel to the nation. What a joy and blessing it was to see these students receive their degrees and go out to serve the Lord.

Visiting with us this year was a mission team from the Chicago area headed by Dr. Mike Floyd. They had a fruitful and rewarding time sharing with our students.

The team was able to hold services in a number of local churches. In one of these services on a Wednesday night, we were expecting a large crowd of five to six hundred. But one of our graduates, Pastor Chandu, worked in getting over 1200 to attend the service, many of which were unbelievers. When the gospel and invitation were given over one hundred trusted Christ as their Savior.

I also had the opportunity to preach and conduct special services in a number of churches this year. The result of preaching in these churches was that over 200 people made decisions to trust Christ as their personal Savior in these meetings. What a privilege to share a clear gospel with those who are blinded by the enemy.

During our graduation service we had the privilege of ordaining five of our graduates to the ministry. These men were going immediately into full-time ministry. One of these men is from (Myanmar) Burma, three are from Kerala and the other is from north India.

So far we have had twenty graduating classes and 410 graduates now serving the Lord throughout India, in the nation of (Myanmar) Burma and in Nepal. These graduates are reaching thousands of people with the gospel weekly.

Please pray for these men as they serve the Lord in areas that are dangerous and hostile to the gospel. Pray that the Lord will protect them and that they will lead a multitude of souls to Christ.

PRAYER LIST

The new school year for the Solid Rock Theological Seminary will begin in June 2010 and will end in March 2011. Before I left India, we already had many new applications for the school year 2010-2011. It costs $ 550.00 to provide a scholarship for each student per year. As we have to underwrite the complete expense of all the students and the functioning of the whole Seminary, we covet your prayers that the Lord will raise the funds needed each month for the running of the Seminary and paying the faculty salaries.

      · Pray for strength and health for our graduates and national missionaries. Pray that God would give them wisdom, peace and protection as they minister in areas where violence can break out at any time; especially in north India. Remember spiritual attack always comes when one becomes involved with proclaiming the clear gospel message.

      · For faithfulness in witnessing opportunities and ability to face challenges and responsibilities.

      · For our Seminary faculty as they continue their work of teaching and equipping the students for full time ministry.
